Bring implies carrying, leading, or transporting from a distance to the point where the speaker or agent is or will be; take, a carrying, leading, or conducting to a point away from the one where the speaker or agent is or will be; thus, a mother asks her boy setting out for school to take a note to the teacher and to bring home a reply; a farmer takes his cattle to the market and brings back a supply of sugar, flour, and fresh meat.
